Sophie Rizzo

Integrative Counsellor

About me

I have lived and worked in London since 1991, when I moved here from Arles in the south of France.

Like many people, I have had to face many challenges in my life and that led me on my counselling career path.

Merging my 23 years’ experience working in mental health, learning disabilities and autism, and my training as an integrative counsellor, I am able to offer a tailored therapeutic service to suit your needs.

As everyone is not the same, we can work collaboratively to find the best way to help you on your journey by drawing from a range of approaches that best suit you.

My aim is to create a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to explore your feelings, thoughts, beliefs, behaviours and concerns, and support you to get a better understanding of yourself and of your interaction with others.

I embrace a holistic approach to therapy, utilising various techniques that recognise each person's unique identity. We'll progress at a pace that suits you and prioritise the topics you feel are most important for each session.

I always conduct sessions with the utmost sensitivity, respecting diverse backgrounds, including sexual and gender identities, ethnicities, ages, cultures, and abilities.

I offer short or long term therapy sessions depending on your needs. Appointments are available online, in person or by telephone.

I specialise in learning disabilities and neurodiverse clients.

Why L’hirondelle?

Pronounced: Lee-ron-dell

L’hirondelle” or “the swallow” is an elegant bird known for its freedom of movement and representation of Spring. Some ancient civilisations recognise “l’hirondelle” as a symbol of luck, prosperity and fidelity as well as peace, freedom, focus, cheerfulness, wanderlust, good fortune, family, concentration and always finding your way home.
